Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 15:15

This training includes multiple and varied teaching activities that allow us to assess your progress, to situate you in your learning and to modify, if necessary, your way of learning.

The courses cover levels 1 to 8 of the Quebec scale of French proficiency levels.

Teaching activities are numerous and varied:

Oral communication activities

Reading, writing, grammar and phonetics

Knowledge of Quebec

Communication strategies

Peculiarities of French in Quebec, etc.

Childcare, Daycare or Day Camp Expenses

If you need childcare while attending the training, you may be eligible to receive up to $25 per day, per child, subject to certain conditions and upon submission of receipts.

  • A form must be completed for children 12 years of age and under and submitted to the reception desk, preferably by email.
  • A PDF copy or photocopy of the supporting documents for the applicant and the child or children must also be provided.

Course content

Course 1 (levels 1 to 3 of the Quebec scale of French proficiency levels)

Dans ce cours, vous explorerez les notions de base de la langue française à l’oral et à l’écrit pour répondre à vos besoins immédiats. Ce cours vous permettra également de vous familiariser avec les us et coutumes, les codes et les règles de la vie quotidienne dans la province.

The communication objectives and activities will allow you to develop your ability to:

  • Interacting orally in simple everyday situations
  • Understanding short and simple sentences, messages, and texts
  • Produce short messages and fill out simple documents

Course 2 (levels 3 to 5 of the Quebec scale of French proficiency levels)

In this course, you will consolidate your learning of the basics of spoken and written French to meet most of your everyday needs. This course will give you the opportunity to explore the geographical and historical characteristics of Quebec. You will also learn about the resources and institutions of Quebec society related to the exercise of your rights and responsibilities as a member of this society.

The communication objectives and activities will allow you to develop your ability to:

  • Communicating orally in predictable everyday situations
  • Understanding simple texts
  • Write short, coherent or structured texts to express ideas or facts.

Course 3 (levels 5 and 6 of the Quebec scale of French proficiency levels)

In this course, you will improve your understanding of French language concepts and strengthen your ability to understand and produce spoken and written statements to meet specific everyday needs. This course will also give you the opportunity to become familiar with significant events in Quebec history and recent events, to observe the characteristics of Quebec's economic life, and to distinguish the various forms of participation in community life.

The communication objectives and activities will allow you to develop your ability to:

  • Conversing in various situations
  • Understanding various types of texts of medium complexity
  • Write short, structured texts and simple formal texts

Course 4 (levels 6 to 8 of the Quebec scale of French proficiency levels)

In this course, you will deepen your understanding of French language concepts, both spoken and written, and develop your ability to participate in conversations on topics of general interest. This course will also give you the opportunity to discover different aspects of Quebec cultural life and learn about the realities of the job market.

The communication objectives and activities will allow you to develop your ability to:

  • Conversing in partially predictable situations
  • Understanding texts of general interest containing implicit ideas
  • Write formal texts that meet basic academic and professional requirements

Complaint Management

A complaint may be filed with the Government of Quebec in the event of dissatisfaction with the program, instructional materials, assessments, or teaching staff.

Immigrant or Canadian-born (or by filiation) individuals meeting all of the following conditions:

  • Be 16 years of age or older
  • Reside in Quebec

For immigrants: be born outside of Canada
